"What I can do, anybody can do!"

"It is only training, it is awaking...because it's already there!"

- Wim Hof -

What is the Wim Hof Method?

The Wim Hof Method® (WHM) is a way to rediscover one's innate physical and mental abilities through the synergy of breathing exercises, exposure to cold and mental training.

Thanks to this method you will unlock your inner potential and develop better health and physical & mental strength. You will be able to relearn these powerful techniques and protocols created by the "Ice Man" and based on old principles from Shaolin and Tibetan monks like the Tumo. The Wim Hof method is based on scientific studies and has shown scientists for the first time that we can influence our (autonomous) nervous system.

For many it has been the start of awakening and profound transformation. Learn how to deal with daily stressors, get a clear mind and stay healthy.

BREATHING

These breathing protocols reset and re-balance the nervous- and endocrine system, often deregulated by stress and our lifestyles. By stimulating both ends of our nervous system, the immune system is also strenghtened.

COLD EXPOSURE

Controlled exposure to cold stimulates feel-good hormones, and also trains the cardiovascular system while recuding levels of inflammation. You will learn to deal with discomfort, become more resilient and mentally stronger.

COMMITMENT

To reap the full benefits over time, the method requires willpower and regularity. Build a new routine and explore your full potential for a healthier, stronger and happier life.

The science behind the method

What Wim is capable of was long viewed as scientifically impossible.

In 2007 the first scientific analysis was done at Feinstein Institute in New York. In 2011, the University Medical Center St. Radboud in Nijmegen really got the ball rolling. After running several tests they couldn’t but admit that Wim and others are able to voluntarily influence the Autonomic Nervous System. Something which up until then was thought impossible, through the wim hof method.

This groundbreaking finding, published in PNAS and Nature, established credibility and bred curiosity among academia. Increasingly, researchers across a wide range of disciplines have since taken an interest, and various promising studies are currently underway.

Frequently asked questions

Can everybody practice the Wim Hof Method?

Yes, normally anyone can practice the Wim Hof Method. Our workshops are open for participants from 18 years old. If you have specific medical conditions, we advise you to consult your medical doctor beforehand and to contact us at info@b-you.lu so we can discuss your specific conditions beforehand.

When is it not advised to practice the Wim Hof Method?

If you have the following conditions, you cannot practice the Wim Hof Method:
- People with epilepsy
- Severe high blood pressure
- Coronary or heart diseases
- If you are pregnant
If in doubt, always ask the approval from your medical doctor before practicing the Wim Hof Method or participating to a WHM workshop.

How do I prepare before coming to a workshop?

No specific preparation is needed for participating to one of our WHM workshops. If you want to prepare, you can start 4 weeks before with cold showers. Start slowly with a 10sec cold shower after your normal warm shower and build it up progressively to 2min cold showers in week 4. Remember, the goal is to stay calm under the cold shower and embrace the cold.

Eat a light breakfast and avoid drinking coffee the day of the workshop.

Is it obligatory to get in my swimming suit in front of people I just met?

No, many people have asked us this question. The solution is simple, just bring a legging or short and a T-shirt or lycra that can get wet. The cold exposure experience will be the same.

How to dress and what to bring to a workshop?

- Please come in comfortable clothes (jogging, leggings)
- Bathing suit
- Towel and/or bathrobe
- Slippers or crocs
- If you do not feel comfortable getting in your bathing suit, please bring a thin legging, short or T-shirt that can get wet.
- Most important...bring your smile
